Frequently Asked Questions Regarding the Headspace Update

Why is the employer-sponsored Headspace benefit ending?

Following a review of utilization data from the past three years, Physician Wellness determined that the employer-sponsored Headspace benefit was not being used in a way that justified continuing the program. While some physicians utilized the mindfulness, sleep, and stress-management content, there was no recorded use of Headspace coaching or clinical services by primary users in the last 12 months. Similar mindfulness resources are also available through Calm Health at no cost as part of employee benefits.

When will employer-sponsored access end?

Employer-sponsored access to Headspace will end on July 9, 2026.

What happens to my Headspace account after July 9?

Users will receive communication directly from Headspace with information about their account and available options. Physicians who wish to continue using Headspace may be able to transition to a personal subscription.

Can I still use Headspace after the employer-sponsored benefit ends?

Yes. Headspace will continue to be available directly to consumers through personal subscription options.

Will I lose access to my saved content and history?

Questions about account data, saved content, and subscription transition options should be directed to Headspace. Current users will receive additional information from Headspace regarding their accounts.

Are Headspace therapy and mental health services still available?

Yes. Headspace's clinical services, including therapy, remain available directly through Headspace. Access and costs will depend on individual insurance coverage and eligibility or may be available on a self-pay basis.

How can I access confidential mental health support?

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) remains the primary resource for confidential support, including coaching, therapy referrals, and care navigation. Additional resource support is also available through the HEAR Program and the Calm Health app.

Who can I contact if I have questions?
